Happy birthday Xianling!
And happy belated birthdays to Hitsugaya Toushirou, Captain of the 10th Division in Bleach (20/12) and Takuya of UVERworld (21/12)! Also to Jo Ee and my cousin, Su Fen (23/12)!
Tomorrow will be Urahara Kisuke’s birthday and New Year’s Day will be Shihouin Yoruichi’s birthday! Yay them!
Goodness, I remember too many irrelevant birthdays here.
Ah Merry Christmas to one and all, and Happy New Year to you too! It’ll be a nice year next year, I hope, seeing that I have no school for almost half a year, will be working, hopefully for half a year, thus earning money, for like hopefully, half a year, and also slacking around and doing actual comic drawing, for like, half a year! Everything’s like, half a year here!
Ah I remember on Christmas day, I made some people quite annoyed with me by worrying about non-existent homework. Of course, people who actually have homework were obviously annoyed but that’s not my problem.
Sorry kids, all who have school and whatever, but I must repeat to myself again, that I have absolutely no work to do whatsoever and that it is OKAY to relax.
… I actually felt guilty for playing Diablo II for like 6 straight hours yesterday. Damn my stupid guilt hormones. I died like so many times because of stupid mistakes and because Diablo was scary. My sister and I had a heartfelt talk about boys, DotAing and experience runs in general, along with specialization in the games. Boys and girls playing the same games have completely different agendas for doing so.
For example:
Male Friend: Sherilyn (sister), why are you keeping all those gems?
Sister: Because they’re pretty.
Male: You don’t keep them, you sell them.
Sister: I am a woman. I like shiny, pretty stuff. Go away.
Anyway, I got fired at my job. Overstaffed. I feel neglected.
It was like completely, four days of work. Hah. I laugh. Anyway, it’s all over and done with, I hope to get other jobs next year! I shall slack with whatever gusto I have left!
Onwards to the world of slackiness! My sister reminded me that after A Levels, we no longer have holiday homework. Alrights then!
Okay, so what have I been doing these few days? It’s been church and stuff on Christmas day (I shot my sister down for asking me to stay back to wait for her until 1pm when I had been in church since 8am in the morning and was surviving on like 4 hours of sleep) and then I went home to sleep – yes I pride myself on doing supremely mundane things on supremely important days.
You will find me at home watching cartoons on New Year’s Day, by the way.
AND! AND! AND! THIS IS MOMENTOUS NEWS! I have actually sent out Christmas cards this year!
I sent them out on the 21st okay, for all who were disgruntled at the fact that they arrived late. I SWEAR, THEY GOT LOST IN THE MAIL. I DON’T KNOW WHAT HAPPENED. I POSTED THEM ON THE 21ST! THEY ARE BRIGHT ORANGE. WHO COULD MISS THEM!?
And all my friends will now proceed to edge away and claim that they don’t know me at all.
Oh and I have been watching Lucky Star, this horribly random anime on this bunch of school girls who talk on completely irrelevant stuff in school. It’s kind of like Azumanga Daioh – that Central’s begun to show WATCH IT OMG HAHAHA – but I think it’s a little different. I just don’t know how.
I have also obtained PotC: AWE OST - the third movie ost (Original Sound Track), with the wonderful haunting tunes by Hans Zimmer who did The Simpsons Movie (why did you tarnish your portfolio with that?!) and also some other movies that I cannot be bothered to research up on now. And I have been trying to find the Peter Pan sound track as well, the movie version starring Jeremy Sumpter who is incidentally, the same age as me. Disturbing.
I am currently championing in not doing anything at all, yes procrastinating at doing stuff that I like. This is scary.
I also stopped reading Edgar Allan Poe and returned the book without completing it. This is the first time I'm doing something like this! I am horrified. Anyway, Edgar Allan Poe was too boring and annoying. He really was... just... annoying. So I gave up. Lovecraft was still alright.
Yes! Met up with Smee and her friend, Regina who is a very nice girl with PRO ART SKILLS WHO CAN INK LIKE ANYTHING – UBER PRO – WAAAH – for some… thing. We are working on it now and not telling you about it, hence we are ultimately cooler than you. Hahahaha.
What’s wrong with not finishing my drink, huh, Smee?

A Pertinent Question
When Person A says to Person B: ‘I don’t like him as much as you do!’ – does it mean that:
a. Person B likes him but Person A doesn’t, or
b. Both Persons A and B dislike him?
An innocent question indeed. Popped out of my head when I was doing laundry today. I’d go with the first answer but the second one occurred to me as well. Hence, the dilemma.
(I can already hear the screaming of ‘NELLYN, YOU BAKA, STOP THINKING OF STUPID THINGS LIKE THIS’ - probably from Smee)
In other news, H.P Lovecraft is really inspirational. I feel the urge to write something because of his works. I can see why he’s the ‘baroque prince’ as Stephen King puts it, now. So far the stories that I’ve liked have been few – The Rats in the Walls, Cool Air and some others but yes – Lovecraft is rather good. In a creepy, hair-standing, prickly sort of way. It’s good.
I wonder what Edgar Allen Poe would do to me.

OH NOES
After watching episode 151 of Bleach, which came out last Saturday, I got too irritated with waiting for the other episodes to come out and be properly subbed that I went out, found the manga and predictably, went on a manga-reading spree.
Episode 151 stopped at chapter 251 of the manga. I’m now at chapter 303 already, which is the latest chapter. Oh dear.
And I still feel bad for piahing Bleach manga for so long. Damn – I haven’t shook off my A Levels guilt thing about not studying yet.
Ah but the manga is really good. I’m pretty used to seeing Bleach in technicolour as I’ve only watched the anime but now that I’m reading the manga, it’s all black and white again but the art quality went way, way up – which makes up for the no-colour scheme.
Ah let me fan-girl a little (lot) here.

OMG IS GRIMMJOW JAEGERJAQUES COOL OR WHAT. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Heck he even has a cool name.
(Sorry, it’s a spoiler. Somewhat. Does seeing his released form count as one, when it’s already on Wikipedia?)
Really. I love his fighting style, the way he goes all out with Ichigo, his twisted sense of justice and honour – bitching at Ulquiorra Schiffer for doing off with Ichigo before he got the chance to – he kind of reminds me of people from the 11th Division –
Ah what a wonderful creator Kubo Tite is.
Ah did you know, he's based off the main character from Kubo Tite's first work - Zombie Powder~
Actually I would have liked Ulquiorra – if I could pronounce his name.
Today was the first work day. Spent it feeling terribly lost, inferior and stupid. Only good thing was that it was a half-day – so went off at 1pm. Tomorrow will be a very, very busy day. I think I screwed up magnificently so tomorrow I must work harder!
… And not get lost at Paragon again… Or refer the patient to the wrong person… Or be late… Or mess up accounting…
*Goes into depression*
I am going to wear my most comfortable shoes ever when I get there. And I will not be late again.
Shinichirou Miki voiced Bak Chan from D.Gray-Man’s Asian Branch! Yay! I love his voice. Yes this is why a nice voice is very important to me. A couple of years of listening out for sexy-sounding, smooth-voiced Japanese seiyuus does things to you…
Yay for Okiayu Ryoutarou (Kuchiki Byakuya, Dark Mousy, Tezuka Kunimitsu), Akira Ishida (Cho Hakkai, Hikari Satoshi, Hajime Mizuki), Shinichirou Miki (Urahara Kisuke, Shannon Cassull, Yamino Ryuusuke), Romi Paku (Edward Elric, Hitsugaya Toushirou, Hyuuga Natsume, Tao Ren), Fukuyama Jun (Yumichika Ayasegawa, Watanuki Kimihiro), Miyano Mamoru (Suoh Tamaki, Yagami Light), Suzumura Kenichi (Hitachiin Hikaru, Lavi), Namikawa Daisuke (Ulquiorra, Fay D. Flourite, Ohtori Chotaro), Miyu Irino (Li Syaoran, Niwa Daisuke, Haku from Spirited Away), Narita Ken (Sesshoumaru, Ishida Ryuuken), Takehito Koyasu (Keiki, Ranka, Faust VII), Nobutoshi Canna (Mido Ban, Nnoitra, Kabuto Yakushi)!!
(Strangely, all are men – except Romi Paku – but she does guys all the time)
Picked the more prominent roles – roles that people who tend to read my blog will identify with in brackets. Mua hahahaha. Okay - I will stop listing them. This is called being extremely bored while waiting for links to load.
Also: Link for my Prom 2007:
Sendspace: CLICK ME! (137mb)
Tip: Try downloading during mornings or afternoons. Much, much better chances of getting the file quickly and easily.
Link for ODAC Kelong:
Mediafire: CLICK ME AGAIN! (65.3mb)
NB: I actually found a lot of typoes in this post. I think the combined effect of Grimmjow Jaegerjaques’ released form and my job today has made me incoherent.
... And yes, Adeline, it's a post on manga/anime again. Hahahaha. Sorry if I'm obsessed.
I'M SLEEPY.

I’M BACK
From some weird kelong thing that I’ve been at for the past two days. It’s been fishing, fishing, more fishing and occasionally sotonging for all the time I’ve been there with Fariha-ha, Kenneth, Jonathan, Xiangfeng, Meiying, Wynee, Clement, Jiawen and Anthony.
Stuff that I want to remember from the trip:
Learning to fish
The speedboat ride there had had us bumping over the surface of the water – I bet the driver enjoyed our randomized screaming
The wind
The friendly people there who taught us rudimentary fishing
The double bunk beds from Bed Hell, with ants and a weird couple sleeping beside me and Fariha
Jonathan accidentally calling for Anthony (who snores loudly) to sleep with him when he was actually calling for Kenneth
The first game of Bridge I played with Fariha, Kenneth and Jonathan, where the Ace of Spades went missing and it was the card that Jonathan called to be his partner and we all didn’t have it and we all played against him and halfway through the game he realized that he didn’t have anyone helping him and everyone got very confused as no one had the Ace of Spades until Kenneth fished (argh pun) it out of the packet and ran away when we all made a lot of noise
Actually catching fish without using bait and using your hands to remove the painful hook from their mouths
Anthony getting stung by some poisonous fish (he brought it back home to eat)
Star-gazing and looking for a meteor shower at 11.30pm in the night when we actually didn’t know what direction to look in *Extra: When we were looking at the stars, someone commented on the validity of the meteor shower at 11.30pm and JonP in his traditional, lame set of slack humour, said: 'Maybe it finished bathing already.' As expected, there was a brief pause as everyone digested what he just said before cries of 'Jonathan!' 'Jon!' etc etc issued from everyone else. End Extra*
SUNBURNS and forgetting that UV rays exist
Bathing in the wind and ice cold water
Sea snakes and barnacles getting caught in fishing hooks
Actually discovering where the phrase ‘hook, line and sinker’ came from
Rediscovering how gay ODAC guys can actually be and considering once again, if they actually fit into guy category
Screeching at Kenneth, Anthony and Jonathan who did not bathe for a whole day after being slapped raw by the (salty) wind and getting hot and sticky because of the sun
Being freaked out by H.P Lovecraft – he’s really very creepy
Copious hours of sleeping on the van when there was nothing much else to do
Cam-whoring – I expect full albums from Meiying, Jiawen and Wynee
Anthony kissing a dead fish
Jonathan attempting to eat that same fish (I think it’s really badly traumatized)
Fariha getting wet twice on the same boat ride in the same seat
The rain

Thank you, Meiying’s family! =)

And then Aggie lauded me with this.

OMG NO WAY
Yay! After a few days of piahing Bleach, I have reached episode 150! I am happy! I should have done this earlier though. Hum.
So far, my plans for the extremely long break that I am going to have (sorry, all XY chromosome people – mua hahahahaha – hmmm I don’t sound sorry at all; then again – MUA HAHAHAHAHAHAHA – yes that puts it in a much better light) are naught. Well, as in, I’ve planned to do them but I haven’t actually started. I mean, well, I started but I haven’t actually followed through with them… Which just proves that I even procrastinate at slacking and doing stuff that I like.
I am a hopeless procrastinator.
Anyway, yes.
I love the italics function here. It’s way too cool.
I’m going to start work in 6 days. I think I’m going to die.
In other news – I have begun to read classic stuff! It’s insanely boring though. Still, I don’t mind reading them as they’ve pretty much influenced many of the nice writers I like today.
Ooh! I like Franz Kafka’s short stories. You should read them. I’ve scanned in the ones I like but I think putting them up here is like against copyright laws or something? So, whatever – I won’t put them up.
I’ve borrowed Edgar Allen Poe – depressing guy – and H.P Lovecraft. I hope they’re not too scary – ah maybe their version of scary won’t be our time’s version of scary- like how Wuthering Heights was described as one of the greatest romance novels of all time and I just got extremely bored with Catherine and Heathcliff or whatever his name was because they were just an annoying couple to me.
Oh but I’ve been up late so far also watching stuff like Nodame Cantabile the drama, Hanakimi and I’m thinking of finding HYD 1 and 2 online or something. And I watched the Cowboy Bebop movie! It’s nice – there are nice songs there – that reminds me, I need to find them – and it’s got excellent animation and a great storyline. Unlike Bleach nowadays.
It’s disgusting how much the quality of Bleach animation has fallen. Kubo Tite would writhe in disbelief at how much it’s fallen. Seriously, the animators need to do something about it. And the latest songs aren’t nice – except for After Dark by Asian-Kungfu Generation.
But the omakes still rock. Really. At least it still retains its humour, which is good.
Also! I have been reading some manga online because I had Smee’s recommendation – BRING BACK SNOW FROM HOKKAIDO ALRIGHT – for them but I’ve also stopped following through. Alas I am hopeless at everything. I shall die a terrible death when I grow up or something.
Anything else that has happened to me? Right – went for Standard Chartered marathon on Sunday – legs ached till like Wednesday. Don’t congratulate me, it’s only a mere 10km – go talk to people who ran the whole marathon (42.195km – they have a shirt for that – I want that shirt) or the half marathon (21km) and congratulate them instead.
But I feel like an idiot! I haven’t been doing much so far and the holidays are slowly trickling away! I mustn’t waste this time! I shall go kayaking and swimming too! And maybe take language classes – maybe I can kidnap Xinli or Veronica and we’ll go learn Japanese or something – or whatever! A new skill maybe? (Oh yeah… three-star kayaking…)
Now don’t disturb me. I shall go back to typing my story’s latest chapter. It’s coming exceptionally slowly. Or I could sleep.
Shoot I need to read finish Harry Potter. Actually I’m not that interested in the storyline anymore since a. it’s leaked out on Wikipedia, and I think my sister found the book online, which is weird. Takes away the fun in reading the book.
My faint hope is carried away in the night wind.
Won't it reach to anywhere?
