Being completely bored and a complete prat, I have decided to post my poem which I did for some Literature poetry workshop thing. Apparently got like first for general audience favourite. I am such a ham.
Without further ado, here it is! Inspired by this trip to the Dreaded Esplanade.
And to think it was written like last minute. Hahaha.

Musings (I wanted to change this to A Musing, which makes it more ironic. Hat hat hat.)

to cut a violin
just paste one on the door
letting people ininoutout-inout across the floor.

and lapsing within this building
with its piercing spines
scratching the sky like nails across a chalkboard
lies a dragon lurking in the walls.
it tastes like thick brown sickly sweetness
it smells of sea salt
yet it slinks across the marble ground
like how gravel grinds.

people are unaware
how it gradually winds itself
l o n g e r
tighter, deeper
in their minds as they flit past
to excite the five senses.
and its scales are glossier, it grows rounder
every day

for it feeds on feelings
it lusts after love
it goes wild for memorabilia
and unfurls its wings for music.

but we harness its love for art
into a love for money
we turn its nose towards dry paper
instead of the rich earthy flowers.
for as long as we get hungry,
Inspiration is all it takes
to cut a poor violin.

Take that, evil blogging friends who insist I blog! Wa hahahax.
